What's the difference between Sid Meier's Colonization (Classic)?

When I compair this game with Sid Meier's Colonization (Classic), I find a lot of similarities. I would almost dare to say that they are the same.

So what are the gameplay differences, compared to Sid Meier's Colonization?

There are a lot of gameplay differences. Here is a list of the most notable

- Units have a health system
- Supply system
- Two levels of fog of war
- Production has auto allocation of labor and there is auto production
- Player receive optional missions from the King
- Random disasters may affect ships and colonies
- Pirates are a separate player
- Independence is optional and does not end game
- More ship types that appear gradually
- Military units and ships gain experience from combat
